The Discovery Badge <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Discovery Badge is the major award for the Company age group, being achieved during year 3 or aged 13\/14 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To gain the award a young person has to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Gain a Core Activity Award <\/strong>in the last 12 months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Complete a \u2018Faith Journey<\/strong>\u2019 element.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Complete 1+ Night Away or 2+ Adventure Days<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Complete 3 hours volunteering in Company\/Church<\/strong> or \u2018Volunteer\u2019 Staged Award Level 2<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Be an \u2018Active\u2019 member <\/strong>of the Company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The President’s Badge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Awarded from Year 1 in the Seniors age group, it will is the first of two major awards which can be gained in Seniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To gain the award a young person has to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Gain a Core Activity Award in the last 12 months<\/strong> (alternatively a young person could have completed Bronze Duke of Edinburgh\u2019s Award to fulfil this element).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete \u2018Faith Journey\u2019 element<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete 2+ Nights Away within last 24 months or 3+ Adventure Days<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete 10 hours volunteering in Company\/Church or complete \u2018Volunteer\u2019 Staged Award Level 3<\/strong> (alternatively a young person could have completed Bronze Duke of Edinburgh\u2019s Award to fulfil this element).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete Building your Skills Course or complete \u2018Teamwork\u2019 Staged Award Level 3<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Be an \u2018Active\u2019 member of the Company<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

      The King’s Badge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The King’s Badge is the highest award that may be gained by a member of The Boys\u2019 Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      It\u2019s a real opportunity; it aims to challenge and equip the individual, provide new opportunities and expand horizons while remaining accessible to young people of all abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      A young person wishing to work towards their King\u2019s Badge must first have completed their President\u2019s Badge. The King\u2019s Badge offers the chance to engage with the local community, take on responsibility, set personal goals, build self confidence and experience a sense of achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In order to achieve the King\u2019s Badge a young person must complete the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Hold the President\u2019s Badge<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Attend a Candidate\u2019s Meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Participate in skills-based training<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Take responsibility within the BB or Church<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Provide voluntary service or support to others outside the BB or Church<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Develop Interests (Skills, Physical, Expedition)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Participate in a Completion Residential<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Record Activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
